AJA launches SDI/IP bridge and openGear family

A new video and audio processor designed to bridge SDI and IP infrastructures across broadcast, production and proAV has been launched by AJA Video Systems ahead of IBC2026.

AJA, which will debut the new processor at the event next week, will also use IBC2026 to unwrap a new family of openGear-compatible cards offering four channels of conversion between 12G-/3G-SDI and fibre.

The FS8, on display in Hall 7, supports up to eight channels of HD or four channels of UltraHD image processing, including frame synchronisation, up/down/cross conversion and IP gateway functionality. Building on AJA’s FS frame sync line, the 1RU system features a node-based web UI and connectivity including 12G-SDI, ST 2110, Dante and MADI.

Nick Rashby, President of AJA, said: “With IP video adoption growing across industries, having flexible video and audio support is more essential than ever for media companies balancing legacy infrastructure with the buildout of next-gen workflows. FS8 is our first frame sync to support ST 2110, but it does so much more. It’s a Swiss-army knife solution for common production headaches.”

FS8 will be available through AJA’s worldwide reseller network with optional licences for Colorfront Engine and BBC HLG LUTs.

The openGear-compatible OG-FiDO-4 family enables uncompressed SDI transport over LC fibre and includes DashBoard software support for centralised monitoring. In all, nine different models are available, including the base card and AJA Fiber SFP variations such as 12G-SDI, 3G-SDI, single-mode, and multi-mode models.

“At a time when multicamera setups are growing in size and complexity… extending SDI infrastructure over fibre has never mattered more,” said Rashby, asserting, “the OG-FiDO-4 family delivers practical, cost-efficient solutions with the channel density, signal integrity, and dependability that mission-critical environments demand.”
