3 Screen Solutions (3SS) and remote-control specialist Tech4home (t4h.) are collaborating on a pre-integrated product designed to enhance entertainment user experiences (UX).
t4h.’s AdaptiveKey and Programmable Buttons remote controls are now pre-integrated with the 3Ready Platform. This is said to enable operators to programme, measure, and monetise keys in software across an entire fleet.
Viaplay Group was the first to go live with the product for its flagship Allente entertainment service in Sweden, Norway, and Denmark.
t4h. designs the remote-control unit (RCU) device and the technology within it, while 3SS provides the UX and platform layer that sits between the set-top box and the service.
Pierre Donath, Chief Product, Marketing Officer, 3SS, said: “For decades, the remote control has been the one part of the TV experience no one could change after launch. Now, with AdaptiveKey running on 3Ready, operators can decide how every programmable key looks, as well as what it does, says, and earns, from 3Ready Control Centre, for every home at once.”
