In its bid to remain committed to story-centric workflows, CGI is introducing feature enhancements to its OpenMedia newsroom platform and the dira! radio suite at IBC.
The integration of generative AI features within OpenMedia take centre stage. One example is Condat’s Smart Media Engine, which provides semantic search of content and social media, as well as topic detection and associating.

Third-party integrations with platforms such as Microsoft Teams enable all communication and data to be viewed directly in OpenMedia. The OpenMedia NewsBoard has also been redesigned to enable journalists and editorial teams to co-ordinate story-centric planning and production processes from anywhere, while the new cloud-native ReporterApp for Android and iOS allows reporters in the field to automatically stay connected to their newsroom and collaborate on content.
On the radio side, CGI says its web-based and cloud-enabled radio production suite, dira! Dimension, solves the challenges of operating radio services while permitting staff to work from home, facilitating remote audio editing securely and reliably.
The dira! Onair Player introduces new features, such as a built-in crossfade editor, voice track editor and jingle management tools, while an integrated content browser offers time-scaling and loops on the fly with network-independent emergency operation.
