Catalonian broadcaster TV3 has integrated TVU RPS One’s 5G field units for synchronised multi-camera remote production. The broadcaster has also strengthened its partnership with TVU Networks by adding TVU G-Link, an ultra-low latency IP-based distribution system, to its workflow.
Albert Bargalló, MCR chief at 3Cat, said: “The addition of TVU RPS One and G-Link to our production toolkit provides us with the flexibility and reliability we need to cover more stories, faster, and with higher quality. These solutions allow us to get closer to the action and deliver real-time content that enhances our audience’s experience, whether they’re tuning in for breaking news or live sports.”
TVU Networks said TVU RPS One allows TV3 to produce multi-camera live content from the field using a single, lightweight, portable unit. It supports up to four cameras, eliminating the need for extensive cabling, which speeds up the coverage of breaking stories and enables live broadcasts from previously hard-to-reach locations.
TVU G-Link serves as a bi-directional point-to-point IP distribution system, enabling ultra-low latency feed exchange and monitoring between locations. With this addition, TV3 can send real-time footage and programme video return between their studio and satellite trucks, ensuring responsive live broadcast operations, TVU said.
