LTN and Lumen Technologies have formed a partnership to provide tier-one sports leagues and broadcasters with what they describe as low-latency, high-bandwidth connectivity and real-time content enrichment services to maximise monetisation
According to the companies, Lumen Vyvx Broadcast Solutions have been combined with LTN’s content enrichment and master control services to provide a fully managed solution for producing major live events for virtually any platform.

An example of one customer is German broadcaster RTL Deutschland, which holds exclusive free-to-air broadcast rights for the NFL. RTL uses a blend of LTN and Lumen technologies to remotely produce the Super Bowl and the biggest live events throughout the NFL season.
Jens Schmitz, Head of Sports Production RTL Deutschland, said: “As the broadcast home of the NFL in Germany, one of the sport’s most dynamic markets outside the U.S., we are committed to innovation with the ultimate goal of delivering cutting-edge viewing experiences that help grow the NFL’s fan base in Germany. The powerful integration between Lumen and LTN makes it simple for us to gain mission-critical, dependable connectivity into iconic stadiums while delivering engaging and unique coverage for our fast-growing audience.”
Mike Burk, General Manager, Event Production and Transmission Unit at LTN, commented that leagues and rights holders “are pushing remote production boundaries to deliver more dynamic and regionally-tailored premier live sports coverage to new platforms and global markets. Delivering complex live event productions with feature-rich language customisation and multipoint global distribution requires the highest quality connectivity and IP ecosystem efficiencies.
