The Creamsource C3 is a new LED Fresnel that looks like a traditional Fresnel but is very different underneath.
Jim Amorosino, Technical Director, said: “The C3 is a 3000W full-colour, LED Fresnel with a new colour mix: BCGLARD, which is blue, cyan, green, lime, amber, red, and deep red. It allows us to have a full colour source, which fills 94% of Rec 2020.”
Like a traditional Fresnel “we move the source inside the fixture, as opposed to moving the lens. We've also designed a square Fresnel, which optically looks just like you'd expect it to look, but it will allow you to join multiple fixtures together, and the square allows us to fill those gaps. So, it works really well when you're building out an array of multiple C3 units,” Amorosino added.
Other features include: a 60º to 16º beam angle, which can be controlled on the back of the fixture as well as via DMX; average output of 10,000 lux at 10m full spot and 1,500 lux in full flood; IP65 rating, so it's as rugged as the Vortex; and advanced thermal management.
First shipments are expected in Q2 2027.
