Expanding its range of hardware interfaces, display manufacturer Densitron announced the addition of more efficient AMOLED displays to its suite of hybrid display technologies at IBC.
With an existing range that already features TFT and OLED display options, as well as monochrome displays, the addition of AMOLED displays introduce thinner and lighter options, better power efficiency and faster response times than LCD-based displays can deliver. The company also says that AMOLED technology delivers wider viewing angles, richer and more vibrant colours, higher contrast ratios and superior sunlight visibility to other displays.
Bazile Peter, Global Product Director, Densitron, said: “Unlike OLEDs and TFTs, AMOLEDs don’t use white light to push through a layer of colours; they emit their own coloured light. This makes them very power efficient and the lack of layers and diffuser means they can be very thin and flexible.”
