Robe Lighting has introduced several new fixtures, from long distance movable spots to studio lights and cyc washers, as well as compact new control panels.
Its latest long-throw fixtures can house different light engines: XP, which is particularly powerful for long distance work; HCF, for high quality colour; or an LED tuned to match a tungsten source. It can also be fitted with a camera module, for follow-spot operators to view on their control monitors. One system can handle 12 fixtures with one operator.
The new T-Series multi-spectral lights use five-colour engines for high colour accuracy. The range encompasses small to large automated and fixed Fresnel or Profile fixtures well suited to studio use.
For green screens its T32 Cyc has a special optical system that offers even coverage of a 6m high backdrop when it is positioned 1m from the cyc (at 1.5m it can light 9m high). For creative effects, the lights can also move or be separately adjusted for colour and intensity. Jeroen Van Aalst, Key Account Manager EMEA, said: “It’s nice and even. It’s a very high- quality solution.”
Also new is the T3 Profile, a five-colour, high-luminance moving light with the new ProFrost progressive frost system that smoothly softens, melts and dissolves projections from 0° to 15°. “It can go from hard edge beam to frost very quickly, but gently.”
It is shown sitting on Robe’s new Power Dolly, for providing power in remote locations or where you don’t want cables. The 80kg unit packs a travel-safe 5kWh battery with two outputs (plus one input that can be used with 48v solar panels). It includes wireless DMX for control.
Subsidiary Avolites has a new range of smaller lighting consoles, such as the D3-110, which has one LCD screen and ten faders. It can be integrated with a video server for use with video walls or projectors.
