Grass Valley demo to meet the demands of fast-turnaround productions

With its hybrid switching strategy set to be front and centre at IBC, Grass Valley will present a dual demonstration that aims to put both its hardware and software through their paces.

Designed to meet the demands of fast-turnaround productions without the space and power demands of traditional broadcast hardware, at the heart of the showcase is the K-Frame VXP, a compact, 5U switcher frame offering four M/Es, UHD processing, and integrated 48×24 routing. Operators can drive the VXP using a newly engineered Karrera panel, which is designed for mobile and remote workflows but retains full-size functionality, including Q-MEM speed keys and 2D/3D DPMs.

Switch into gear: Grass Valley will give visitors a chance to test real-world workflows

Mirroring the K-Frame’s control surface and effects suite while offering cloud-native scalability and on-demand M/Es for distributed teams, the same rundown is playing out in Maverik X, Grass Valley’s AMPP-native software switcher. The company says this back-to-back setup gives visitors a chance to test real-world workflows and assess the handoff between physical hardware and microservices in real time.
