Building out its Unio monitoring ecosystem, Genelec has introduced the 9402A System Management Device for audio-over-IP (AoIP) networking and Dante-compatible professional monitoring.
With Dante and AES67 compatibility for Genelec’s Smart Active Monitors (SAM) and subwoofers, the device complements the existing 9401A model, which supports Ravenna, ST 2110, and AES67 protocols.
The 9402A bridges AES/EBU signal paths and fully networked AoIP, due to its compatibility with formats ranging from stereo to 9.1.6. It also supports up to 16 channels of digital audio via a DB25 connector, with dedicated AES/EBU outputs on XLR for subwoofer integration and auxiliary stereo monitoring.
Alongside this, the system supports high-resolution audio with sampling rates up to 192kHz and bit depths up to 32-bit, fully in the digital domain, ensuring no quality is lost in the conversion process. Tight integration with Genelec Loudspeaker Manager software supports complete system calibration, including subwoofer alignment and support for bass management.
