Comcast Technology Solutions (CTS) has announced a new multi-year agreement with Great American Media to provide managed channel origination, playout, and transmission services using Comcast MediaOrigination, which is part of the Comcast Media360 product portfolio.
Great American Media is home to a portfolio of entertainment brands that focus on faith, family, and country, including Great American Family, the flagship linear network featuring original Christmas movies, rom-coms, and series.
Under the agreement, CTS will provide fully managed broadcast services for Great American Family’s linear channels, including Great American Family East, Great American Family West, and Great American Faith and Living, helping streamline operations and support distribution to leading multichannel video programming distributor (MVPD) and virtual MVPD partners across the United States.
Bart Spriester, Senior Vice President (SVP) and General Manager (GM) of Streaming, Broadcast, and Advertising at CTS, said: “Great American Media is a pioneer in providing family-friendly viewing choices to audiences across the country, and we’re honoured to provide the back-end capabilities to help make that possible. Broadcasters and programmers are looking for ways to operate their linear channels more efficiently while continuing to scale distribution. With Comcast MediaOrigination, part of the Comcast Media360 portfolio, we provide a managed infrastructure for channel origination, playout, and transmission that simplifies linear distribution across today’s MVPD ecosystem, all backed by the 24/7 reliability of CTS.”
