The EVO shared storage platform from Studio Network Solutions is getting a performance boost at IBC2026, as well as compatibility with Media Composer 2026.8 Enterprise.
SNS claims the OS-level update could increase throughput by up to 40% for select EVO configurations. The performance boost was demonstrated in tests of SSD-powered EVO 8 Bay and EVO 16 Bay systems running EVO OS v7.1.1. Eric Newbauer, CTO/Co-Founder, SNS, said: “Our fastest storage solutions just got faster.”
Beyond performance upgrades, SNS has brought ShareBrowser Admin into EVO as a plug-in aimed at administrative workflows and custom metadata management. The company has also expanded compatibility of EVO’s Transcode Accelerator to include Windows workstations.
EVO shared storage is now compatible with Avid Media Composer Enterprise 2026.8, including support for collaborative shared projects and bin locking.
Rich Camp, Principal Media Composer Product Manager, Avid, said: “At Avid, we believe production teams should have the freedom to choose what works best for them. In addition to supporting Avid Nexis collaboration, Media Composer Enterprise 2026.8 expands support for additional shared storage platforms, like SNS EVO, enabling greater flexibility across different editing environments. We're grateful to partners like SNS for testing these workflows ahead of release, to ensure a reliable collaboration experience.”
