Bringing a world-first to IBC, media storage specialist Elements is aiming to boost productivity for post professionals with Elements Blink, a native BeeGFS client for Windows and macOS.

Leveraging the public-source BeeGFS file system and implementing it on its storage appliances, Elements created an environment where hybrid and on-premises networks can maximise performance for the media industry. Previously only available for Linux, Elements’ new Blink implementation extends connectivity for BeeGFS file systems to Windows and MacOS workstations. This provides professional users with the same benefits of the Elements architecture, such as flexible automation, asset management and fast content delivery, without any compromises or the need for single-purpose fibre channel infrastructures.
Danny Peters, VP Business Development Americas, Elements, said: “Accessing content at block level without having to go through a traditional mounting profile gives users the fastest access to content. Previously only Linux clients could take advantage of BeeGFS, but having a native Windows and a native Mac plan gives the fastest possible access to the content in those products.”
