Grass Valley bridges SDI, software-defined workflows

Live production specialist Grass Valley is showing how its tools enable modern and legacy technology to be used in mission-critical live operations.

The ACE-3901-GRID application bridges SDI and software-defined workflows using media eXchange layer (MXL) technology and Grass Valley’s AMPP OS MXL-native architecture. 

By enabling media to move between hardware and software-defined resources, it eliminates unnecessary complexity and allows broadcasters to modernise while protecting existing investments, according to Grass Valley.

The company said ACE-3901-GRID is designed for high-density live production and helps create a unified production environment, with infrastructure, processing and control operating together across on-premises, cloud and hybrid deployments.
