Lisa Opie has been confirmed as the Chair of industry skills body ScreenSkills, to support “sustainable careers” in the UK’s film and TV industry.
Opie served as Interim Chair of ScreenSkills since April 2024 and is currently Managing Director of Ubisoft Reflections and Ubisoft Leamington Studios, as well as a former Managing Director of UK Production at BBC Studios, and former Managing Director of Channel Five.

Opie will work closely with ScreenSkills Chief Executive Laura Mansfield in setting the strategic direction of the organisation, which includes overseeing the development and implementation of ScreenSkills’ strategy, as well as overseeing budget approvals, financial planning, and risk management practices.
Opie will also lead the recruitment, induction, and development of ScreenSkills Trustees, ensuring that the Board has the necessary skills, expertise and diversity of perspectives.
“Never has it been more important to support sustainable careers across the screen industries, ensuring an inclusive workforce fit for the future,” commented Opie. “I am excited by the opportunity to work with industry, our partners across the UK, the Board, and the ScreenSkills team to enable our collective endeavours to build on the UK’s creative success, globally.”
“Lisa’s confirmation as Chair is a testament to her dedication, expertise, and passion for the screen industries,” said Mansfield. “Her leadership will be instrumental as ScreenSkills works with colleagues across the sector to support the workforce and meet the demands of a rapidly changing landscape.”
