David Bortis named interim CEO at Ateliere Creative Technologies

David Bortis, SVP of Operations at Ateliere Creative Technologies, has taken on the role of interim CEO at the media software solutions company.

Bortis replaces founder Dan Goman who has stepped down as CEO in the wake of Ateliere’s decision to drop its planned acquisition of Swedish firm CodeMill.

In a statement last week, Ateliere said: “Due to the current, unforeseen turbulence in the US and in the global business and financial markets, Ateliere is no longer in a position to complete the offer and has instructed the issuing agent to release the tendered shares to the CodeMill shareholders.”

Bortis, an Ateliere shareholder, has worked at the company for a decade with a brief to scale its global business operations.

Ateliere said Bortis will work closely with the company’s leadership team to continue executing its strategic vision.

Goman, as founder and shareholder, will be available in an advisory capacity “to support a smooth and effective transition,” said Ateliere in a statement.

"I take immense pride in the company we’ve built from scratch and the groundbreaking technology Ateliere has delivered," said Goman. "By addressing critical industry challenges, especially sustainability and ROI, Ateliere is paving the way for the future of media technology. With an incredibly talented leadership team at the helm, I’m confident the company will continue to drive further innovation, growth, and success in the years to come."

“I’m honoured to work alongside Ateliere’s extraordinary leadership team as we shape the company’s next chapter together,” commented Bortis. “By focusing closely on our customers’ needs, we’re creating a future with meaningful and lasting impact. We will continue to provide the innovative and sustainable M&E solutions that our customers have come to expect.”
