Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) will close Eurosport in the UK and Ireland and integrate its full line-up of sports content into the TNT Sports channels and platforms from the end of February.
TNT Sports will house Eurosport output such as the Australian Open and Roland-Garros tennis, Grand Tour cycling, the winter sports World Championship and World Cup events, British and World Superbikes, snooker, and the Olympic Games 2026-2032.
This will be added to TNT Sports’ existing coverage of Premier League, UEFA European club football, Premiership men’s and women’s rugby, MotoGP, international cricket, UFC and boxing.
WBD said that a selection of TNT Sports coverage will play on the free-to-air channel Question to “ensure broad access to sport.” In 2025, this will include broadcasting every MotoGP Sprint race as well as live Bennetts British Superbikes coverage, a new weekly cycling show covering and highlights of the Giro d’Italia and La Vuelta a España.
The changes only affect the UK and Ireland market. Eurosport’s channels and brand will remain unchanged in more than 50 other countries and territories where it is available. TNT Sports was first launched in the UK and Ireland in 2023 after the acquisition of BT Sport by WBD. It is available to stream on Discovery+.
Scott Young, Group SVP, Content, Production & Business Operations at WBD Sports Europe, said: “Combining Eurosport and TNT Sports content in the UK and Ireland will enable us to offer a single, premium viewing experience for sports fans. This move in the UK and Ireland will also continue to best deliver value for our leagues and federation partners, as we continue our 35 years plus commitment to investment and championing of sport on our screens, which remains a fundamental part of the success of grassroots through to elite.”
