Vodafone Group has selected SaaS specialist Amagi as a technical service provider and content aggregator for its new free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) initiative in Germany.
The agreement positions Amagi as Vodafone’s strategic partner for FAST, providing a mix of technology, coordinating channel delivery, and monetising content on Vodafone’s platforms. Vodafone Germany announced the launch of the first seven FAST channels on GigaTV in July.
This engagement is being delivered through Amagi’s FASTKit product, described as an end-to-end framework for launching and scaling FAST services with minimal platform lift.
Emma Jones, global head of content, Vodafone Group, said: “This partnership underscores our priority to broaden content choice efficiently. Amagi’s cloud-native FAST origination and distribution services enable us to introduce new channel line-ups swiftly, manage inventory centrally, and deliver a consistent experience to our customers.”
Sridhar Sinnasamy, SVP and business leader for FASTKit at Amagi, added: “This is a milestone FASTKit deployment for us in Europe — one that aims to combine technology, content operations, and monetisation as a fully managed solution.
Vodafone’s launch in Germany demonstrates how platforms can scale FAST quickly and effectively when the foundation is right. With Amagi’s FASTKit, we aim to help partners accelerate time-to-market, reduce operational friction, and unlock new revenue streams — all while delivering a compelling viewing experience.”
