MK.IO surpasses 500 customers on self-serve video streaming platform

MediaKind has announced that MK.IO, its self-serve cloud video streaming platform, has surpassed 500 active customers worldwide within two years of launch.

It said the milestone reflects how video streaming is expanding beyond traditional media, with adjacent sectors now prioritising simplicity and speed. Available via both Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure, MK.IO enables organisations to launch and scale secure live and on-demand video services via intuitive APIs or a web-based UI.

Launched in 2023, MK.IO customers include public sector organisations such as the UK Courts, educational institutions such as the Royal Schools of Music and PESI, retail broadcasters like Japan’s GSTV, wellness platforms including Yoga Download, and critical response agencies such as CalFire.

The platform is also said to be gaining traction in the media and entertainment space, with adopters like Rakuten and the Table Tennis Federation using MK.IO to deliver video at scale through a unified self-serve interface.

Allen Broome, CEO of MediaKind, said: “We’ve built MK.IO to bring professional-grade streaming capabilities to any organisation—no matter the size or industry. Surpassing 500 customers is a major milestone and reflects how more sectors are now relying on video as a critical communication channel. We’re excited to keep innovating in ways that make streaming simpler, smarter, and more accessible.”

Looking ahead, MK.IO plans to expand its capabilities with AI-powered content tagging, automated translation tools, and simplified multiview workflows. The platform is available via AWS Marketplace and Azure Marketplace.
