The UK’s Channel 5 and My5 have relaunched as 5, uniting the broadcaster’s linear and streaming platforms under one brand.
As well as its original drama, factual and kids programming, 5 will feature more content
from parent company Paramount’s brands, including BET, CBS, Comedy Central, MTV Entertainment Studios and Paramount+.
New original series include The Feud starring Jill Halfpenny, Rupert Penry-Jones, Amy Nuttall and Larry Lamb; The Au Pair starring Sir David Suchet; and The Rumour starring Joanne Whalley and Emily Atack. 5 has also secured the UK broadcast rights for the six-part period drama, The Forsytes, starring Francesca Annis.
Fifteen new live channels, curated from Paramount’s shows, are now available on
5’s streaming service.
The free, ad-supported TV (FAST) channels include Police Interceptors, 5 Cops,
Bargain Loving Brits, Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly, The Yorkshire Vet, Geordie Shore, Catfish, Teen Mom, MTV Reality and Milkshake!, with more channels to follow throughout the year.
The launch of 5 is supported by a national marketing campaign – the biggest ever for the broadcaster.
Over the next few months 5 will roll out across all platforms and devices where My5 is currently available, including pay TV (via Sky, Virgin Media, EE TV & TalkTalk), connected TVs (Freely, Freeview Play, Samsung, LG, Fire TV, Roku, Google TV, tvOS), mobile devices (iOS & Android) and channel5.com.
