Cloud-based and remote production services specialist Tata Communications is demonstrating how media organisations can cut carbon emissions while maintaining the quality of delivery for major sports and entertainment events.
Tata Communications claims its MIMiC Cloud Video Services platform enables live production, contribution, and distribution without the emissions burden of extensive travel, freight, and on-site builds.
The company cites more than 100,000 metric tonnes of CO₂ saved across global operations, a 30% reduction in freight and travel for event production, and up to 66% less energy use compared to traditional broadcast methods.
Dhaval Ponda, VP and Global Head of Media & Entertainment Business at Tata Communications, said: “Our mission is not just carbon neutrality but accelerating the shift to carbon-efficient media models at scale. With MIMiC, MediaHub, and our global backbone, we’re proving that sustainability and growth can go hand-in-hand and showing that a sustainable future for media is not a dream, it’s already here.”
