Michael Kaplan, Director of Sales Strategy and Partnerships at NVIDIA, moderated a session addressing the real-world challenges media organisations face when deploying AI at scale on IBC2025’s Future Tech Stage. The panel also included: Christophe Ponsart, Applied AI Practice Co-Lead at Qvest; Greg Shiff, Principal Solutions Architect, Media and Entertainment at Dell Technologies; and Lewis Smithingham, EVP of Strategic Industries (Media, Entertainment, Gaming and Sports) at Monks.
The session focused on the concept of “AI factories” for media, exploring how AI can be integrated into media workflows to enhance efficiency and creativity. Panellists discussed the importance of infrastructure, particularly GPU-dense compute, storage, and networking, in building AI factories that can support media operations at scale. They emphasised the need for reproducibility and consistency in these workflows, highlighting how automation can streamline processes from proof of concept (POC) to production. The discussion also touched upon the role of service providers in aligning AI solutions with customer needs, ensuring that the technology effectively adds value to media production and distribution.
