Starting Pixel Live, the annual gathering for the virtual production industry, has announced its speaker lineup for its 2025 event, which takes place on October 15 at Rich Mix in East London.
Now in its third year, the event explores the real-world use of virtual production, AI, and location capture. It brings together producers, directors, technologists, creatives, and writers working at the intersection of film, gaming, advertising, and immersive content.
This year’s community-driven conference will again see people sharing real, practical examples of how they use these new production technologies and tools.
It will welcome attendees from Starting Pixels' 1,200 global members and anyone else curious about emerging production methods, regardless of background or on-set experience.
Starting Pixel Live 2025’s programme will run across two stages, including talks from directors, producers, and virtual production supervisors, as well as a student showcase and a demo jam session. Sessions include: “Beyond Big Studios: Making Virtual Production Work for Small Creatives,” by Daniel Parry Evans; “Indie VP: Innovating with Indies,” by Lauren Newport-Quinn; “How to Train Your AI Monster,” by Ed Tracy; and “Digital Meets Handmade: Can VP enhance stop-motion?” by David Grey.
“There's often a gap between the people with decades of industry experience, the next generation coming in with new tools and knowledge, and those who are simply curious but have no idea how to get involved,” said Rob Chandler, Founder of Starting Pixel. “Starting Pixel Live is about closing that gap, by welcoming everyone who is interested and enthusiastic and bringing them together in one venue to talk honestly and learn from each other.”
Rob Chandler, Founder of Starting Pixel, recently spoke to IBC354 about the importance of understanding virtual production technology to harness its expansive potential. Discover more here.
