Apple TV+’s The Studio, HBO Max’s The Pitt and Netflix’s Adolescence were the big winners at the 2025 Emmy Awards.
Adolescence cleaned up in the limited series awards, while Hollywood satire The Studio triumphed in the best comedy categories and medical series The Pitt dominated the drama categories.
At the Emmys, The Studio became the comedy to have won the most awards ever in a single year. Alongside its prizes at last week’s Creative Arts Emmys, it came away with 13 trophies.
The Pitt won three awards, including best drama series and two acting awards for Noah Wyle as best lead actor in a drama and his co-star Katherine LaNasa as best supporting actress in a drama.
Breakout hit Adolescence won six awards: best limited series, directing, and writing, as well as three acting awards.
15-year-old Owen Cooper became the youngest-ever winner of the best supporting actor in a limited series award. Additionally, Erin Doherty won best supporting actress in a limited series, while Stephen Graham won two awards for writing and as lead actor in a limited series.
The second season of Severance from Apple TV+ started the night as the most-nominated show, with 27 nominations, and took two major acting prizes: Brit Lower was recognised as the best lead dramatic actress, and Tramell Tillman got the best supporting dramatic actor award.
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert won the best talk series award for the first time in its decade-long run. The win came two months after CBS announced it was cancelling the show for financial reasons.
Jean Smart won best comedy actress for the fourth time for HBO Max’s Hacks. Cristin Milioti from HBO Max’s show The Penguin won best lead actress in a limited or anthology series or movie.
Adam Randall won in the drama directing category for Apple TV+’s Slow Horses, and Dan Gilroy won his first Emmy for best drama writing for the Disney+ series Andor.
The US version of The Traitors won the best reality competition programme prize.
HBO and Netflix led all networks with 30 Emmy Awards each this year. Apple TV+ received 22.
