At the 2026 Oscars, One Battle After Another won six awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Supporting Actor, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Casting, and Best Film Editing.
Following closely behind, Sinners won four Oscars, and Frankenstein won two. Additionally, a rare tie occurred at the event. This was in the Best Live Action Short Film category, in which The Singers and Two People Exchanging Saliva drew.
A night of firsts, Jessie Buckley became the first Irish person to win the Best Actress Oscar, for her performance in Hamnet, while Autumn Durald Arkapaw became the first-ever woman to win the Best Cinematography prize at the Oscars for her work on Sinners.
