Vodafone is to launch Vodafone TV, an entertainment hub offering streaming services, live television, gaming, and music in one place.
The product will be available in October 2026 to Vodafone customers with a broadband or mobile plan.
Vodafone TV is a plug-in hub offering 4K picture quality, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos built in.
It will include Netflix and HBO Max, with the option to add other streaming services. Vodafone TV also comes with Freely built-in, bringing together over 70 live channels and on-demand content from the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, and Channel 5 without the need for a dish or aerial.
The hub will also give customers access to more than 300 cloud games, playable on a smartphone or with a Bluetooth controller.
Vodafone TV comes with a companion app that lets viewers start a programme at home and continue on the go. The app mirrors profiles, recommendations, favourites, and gameplay across devices.
Rob Winterschladen, Consumer Director at Vodafone UK, said: “Vodafone TV is so much more than TV; it’s a family entertainment platform that brings together live TV, On Demand, streaming, gaming, music, and all the apps on the Google Play Store. The entertainment experience is powered by our small yet mighty set-top box with 4K, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.”
Paolo Pescatore, Technology and Telecoms Analyst at PP Foresight, added: “Vodafone TV is one of the strongest family entertainment offerings in the UK and provides a clear direction of where home entertainment is heading. The future of streaming is about aggregation, simplicity, and discovery, bringing free-to-air, premium streaming, entertainment, and gaming together in one place.
Vodafone is also championing the IBC Accelerator project named “Network Control: Your Connection, Your Choice” with the BBC, EBU, DAZN, France Télévisions, GSMA, RAI Italy, RTL Germany, and the University of Strathclyde to investigate how open network APIs can support reliable and business-critical media production workflows over 5G.
