Channel 4 launches first-ever FAST channels on Freely

Channel 4 has become the first UK public service broadcaster to launch streaming FAST channels on Freely.

The move also marks the first time Channel 4 has launched its own FAST channels in the UK market.

Freely is the live and on-demand streaming platform backed by the UK’s public service broadcasters, Channel 4, the BBC, ITV and 5. It allows audiences to access live TV alongside on-demand content for free via their smart TVs, removing the need for a dish or aerial. Freely is owned and operated by Everyone TV.

The three new C4 channels are 4Reality, 4Homes, and 4Life. 4Reality is home to reality TV shows such as First Sight, Naked Attraction, First Dates and Made in Chelsea. 4Homes showcases property shows such as Grand Designs, A Place in the Sun, and Location, Location, Location. 4Life features travel, food and animal genres, with shows like The Dog House and Travel Man.

“We’re proud to lead the way among Britain’s broadcasters by enhancing Freely’s offering,” said Grace Boswood, Director of Technology and Distribution at Channel 4. “The launch of our new streamed channels further accelerates our transformation into the streaming age as the world’s first public service streamer. It also continues our record of digital distribution firsts to benefit advertisers and viewers.”

Jonathan Thompson, CEO of Everyone TV, said: “We’re delighted to be bringing audiences even more high-quality streamed content, in partnership with Channel 4. Freely already offers more shows than any major streaming service in the UK, without the expensive monthly subscription, and for the first time will now offer exclusive channels with entertaining shows from across the Channel 4 portfolio on 4Reality, 4Homes and 4Life – three fantastic channels you won’t find anywhere else!”

Sarah Milton, Chief Product Officer at Everyone TV, recently discussed the Freely platform live at IBC2025. Discover more here.
