UK telco BT will launch BT TV on 15 October 2026, offering live TV and streaming services in one place.
BT said that the launch marked an “important milestone for the BT brand,” completing its connected offering across broadband, TV, and mobile.
The service is accessed via a BT TV Box Pro, which lets streaming users pause, rewind, and record over 600 hours of live TV. It also offers a simpler on-demand streaming platform, BT TV Box Edge, which doesn’t offer recording capabilities.
The move sees BT reviving the BT TV brand three years after its now-abandoned plan to make EE the group’s primary consumer brand, which included renaming its television service as EE TV. Likewise, it comes just months after the firm revived the BT Mobile brand, completing a reversal from this previous EE-centric policy.
According to the company, BT TV will combine entertainment, sport, connectivity, and intuitive features to make it easier for customers to find the content they want to watch.
Luciano Oliveira, Managing Director Products, Consumer, BT, said: “Finding something great to watch shouldn’t mean navigating a maze of apps, subscriptions, and devices. We’ve designed BT TV to bring customers’ entertainment and sport together, making it easier to find what they love, and giving them the freedom to watch live, record their favourites, and catch up when it suits them. Combined with BT broadband, it gives customers a simpler, more complete connected experience from the provider they know and trust.”
BT was recently named as the official telecommunications partner of UEFA Euro 2028, which will take place across the United Kingdom and Ireland from 9 June to 9 July 2028. Discover more here.
