CNBC revamps with Custom Consoles’ Module-R

CNBC has installed Custom Consoles’ Module-R desks and MediaWalls in its European HQ. The new technical control desks and monitor display frames were part of a system relocation and upgrade in its central London facility.

Neil Burt, Senior Director, Technical Operations EMEA, CNBC, said: “Module-R was chosen because of its robust build quality and operator-friendly ergonomics. Custom Consoles has an understanding of the structural features necessary to accommodate broadcast-specific products, as well as computers and related cabling. Installed equipment is well-ventilated and easily accessible for routine maintenance via front and rear access ports.”

The new desks comprise standard 1.2m front-to-back Modular-R versions for the master control and production suites, with space-saving Modular-R Lite for its edit suite.

Both the production control room and master control use Modular-R desks facing free-standing MediaWalls, with a 6.4m-wide version in the PCR supporting a 5x2 array of 55in screens. The edit suite has a six-bay Module-R Lite desk configured for use by two operators.
